Default INSOMNIA!!! arghhhhh...

Anyone else have it?? I want so bad to get a good nights sleep! Any holistic ideas to try???

Prescription meds just make me feel so very groggy in the morning...it's worse than not sleeping at all.

And to top it off...there never is anything good to watch on TV late at night!!

My problem is I am sleepy all day long, I can sleep anytime. Anyway, what I do is workout late at night, so when I come back home, I am dead tired and fall asleep easily. So try to get your body tired, that may help. Also, if something is bothering your mind, you have to try and relax yourself mentally but I am not sure how.

Insomnia is horrible and you are right pills can only do so much. Concentrate on things that relax you before going to bed. But since I don't generally suffer from insomnia, I am probably not the best for advice.

Last night was awful. I went to bed at 11 but was still awake at 2 then finally woke up at 5. Ugh.

Gosh I'm sorry Sugarplum. I just hope it is a phase you are going through, but if you haven't seen a doctor yet, you never know, give them a shot, there are pills out there that do work better than others.

I developed sleep problems over the last few months, all the classes and exams were kicking my butt, what happened was that i had to stay up all night studying or writing papers , now if i try to go to sleep at a decent time, i just lay there in bed but i can't fall asleep till hours later. it's very frustrating and irritating becuase a lot of times i'm tired and i want to sleep but i can't.

it's even more frustrating because i've never had sleep problems till recently.

So sometimes i'm cranky when i wake up and alot of nights, i'm just frustrated because i can't get the sleep i need/want.

sigh. i'm just a little cranky right now and ranting, don't think there's anything that can be done other than to take sleeping pills which i'm trying to avoid.... but if you guys know of anything, let me know... this sleep problem is driving me crazy.

I did a quick search for you. Found a page - http://de.essortment.com/insomniahowdo_rjpr.htm

Don't know how useful, but take a read anyway.

Default just relax...

well, t's a lot easier said than done, right?

i used to have constant trouble sleeping when i smoked. Alhumdulilah i quit and now it only happens when i

- stay up late watching tv, on the computer, or reading work related material.

- when we go out to dinner and i have an espresso (sometimes 2!)after.

- when i am anxious about something happening the next day.

I was talking to a friend about it once, and she has problems sleeping when she has a hot bath or shower right before going to bed. My guess is that the body tends to wake up to sudden temperature changes.

Whether i get to go to bed early or not, i noticed i feel more rested the next day, when the night before i just go to bed and not wait until i feel like i'll fall asleep any minute now.

I keep telling myself to make a habit out of it, but, it does not happen...

I have horrible sleep troubles too. I don't think mine will clear up until my kiddos sleep through the night. I kinda lay their waiting for one of them to wake up. Right now two of them still don't sleep through the night. My three year old and my 1 year old.

I've been suffering from insomnia now for over 10 years!

I have tried many things to try and ‘cure’ my lack of sleepiness but nothing has ever worked.

Sort of given up now and I’m grateful to get a least few hours sleep each night …..
