Things are Good
I'm settling in just fine. It's taken me longer this time to unpack but inshallah it will all come together before August. LOL
In short:
I'm learning how to garden.
I'm thinking about painting. LOL
I registered for Netflix...kids love it.
I have a great haircut and am thinking about giving in to my natural curls.
I have a new love for Mediterranean food.
The rest of my summer will be uninterrupted. Yay!
The backyard is so wonderful. The kids can play and I don't have to worry b/c it's fenced and I can see it from the kitchen while cooking.
I think Indian food triggers my migraines and am trying to pinpoint the spice.
Learning to cook on an electric stove.
Peeling fat chef wall border from the kitchen.
Becoming a facebook freak. (thanks to iphone apps) LOL
That is about it for me!
See you at the forums!

Moving
That Will to Divest
Action creates
a taste
for itself.
Meaning: once
you've swept
the shelves
of spoons
and plates
you kept
for guests,
it gets harder
not to also
simplify the larder,
not to dismiss
rooms, not to
divest yourself
of all the chairs
but one, not
to test what
singleness can bear,
once you've begun.

Donate to Sister's in Need
I have a new donate button over on my side bar. I'd like to ask if you can make a donation for our sisters in need.
Currently I know two sisters who could use some financial assistance. If you can make a donation, it would make a big difference in their lives.
Thank you!

Gone Green
A post over at the forums reminded me to tell ya'll I went green! haha
Yall know I'm only buying organic these days, I've mentioned that before, but now I've purchased the canvas shopping sacks for my groceries.
Yep, bought 20 sacks for 20 bucks. And the store I use them at takes off 5 cents of your purchase for every sack you bring in with you (5 sacks= $.25). Pretty soon they will pay for themselves.
I've also been tinkering with selling my gas guzzler for a hybrid. Husband's company will pitch in 3k for the purchase and I think you get a few K tax break as well (don't hold me to that though).
Anyway, I'm making life changes here and I'm happy about it.
What do you do to be environmentally friendly?
And what kinda hybrid would you get...that can tow you, your spouse, three kids plus 1 friend around? (right now I have third row seating)

Yo, X!
Well, I did it.
I rode my little bike all around the block....family in tow.
It was ok.
My ummmmm...back side.....really hurt.
My bike cushion might as well looked like this:

Seriously, OUCH!
I think I'm gonna have to pimp my ride. ha
